Winter and snowshoe hikes
The snow stretches like a soft, white blanket over the fields and mountains of the region. Explore the most beautiful places in the wintry wonderland while hiking in the snow. 140 kilometers of hiking trails offer pure variety in all difficulty levels. Well equipped and the “sun map” for winter hikers in your luggage, take the cable cars of the Skicircus up to the mountain peaks. The lift ticket includes two rides per day (without ski equipment).
From December to April, you can even take part in guided hikes for free. Meeting point is on Tuesday at 10:00 am at the tourist office in Saalbach and on Thursday at 10:00 am at the tourist office in Hinterglemm. The winter hikes last three hours with the state-certified SalzburgerLand hiking guide Hans Eder through the enchantingly snow-covered Alpine landscape. Registration is not required.
During a snowshoe hike, you can decide for yourself which path through the open terrain you go. For beginners, the route from Lengau via the Lindlingalm – which leads along the Saalach to the right – or a hike above the high-altitude trail from the middle station Reiterkogel in the direction of Rosswaldhütte is suitable. The right equipment is available in the sports shops of the ski region.
