The new Escape Trail “Path of the Smugglers” takes you into the world of Anna the muleteer, who, accused of smuggling, holds out in the Saalbach waiting tower… A new highlight in Saalbach Hinterglemm – from summer 2022 you can go in search of clues!

An adventure “around the corner

If you are looking for summer activities in Saalbach, you don’t have to look far. The new Escape Trail completes the experience offer around the Barbarahof. The starting point is within walking distance: In the Tourism Service Center of Saalbach Hinterglemm the playset is available for 79 €. The mixture of scavenger hunt and puzzle rally is suitable for groups between two and eight people. Hiking with children in Saalbach also becomes a highlight thanks to the Escape Trail.

A mystery time travel

What is the story behind the new Escape Trail? It’s about Anna, who does everything she can to assert herself in the male domain of the hemmer. One day she is caught with a load of brandy, but without a wine note and patent, accused of smuggling and arrested. But Reverend Thaddeus has doubts about their guilt, elicits a confession from the alleged witnesses, locks them in three boxes, and leaves clues for Anna in the waiting tower. The clues land in the 21st century via a magical hunchback. And only you can decipher them and bring the truth to light!

Tested for our guests

When there are new activities in Saalbach, it is a matter of honor for us to test them in advance. So we were out and about in the Glemmtal forests with our adventurous Barbarahof team with moguls and a thirst for discovery. Of course, we can’t reveal the solution, but this much we can say: the short hike on the “Path of the Smugglers” is packed with captivating stops where mysterious maps are read, riddles are solved and messages are decoded. The goal is to gradually pick the locks of the clue boxes and learn more about Anna’s story. In total, the game takes about three to five hours – and they fly by in no time!
