The most important questions & answers about COVID-19

We look forward to hosting you again since May 21, 2021.

The 3G rule applies, which means guests must be either tested, vaccinated OR recovered. For the first time entering an accommodation establishment, one of these three proofs must be presented.

“Tested”
The guest needs a PCR test that is not older than 72 hours, an antigen test that is not older than 48 hours or an antigen test for self-application that has been recorded in a governmental data processing system that is not older than 24 hours. Children up to the age of 12 do not need a test.

“Vaccinated”
All vaccines approved by the EMA (European Medicines Agency) are recognised. Vaccination is only considered to be proof of a low epidemiological risk when complete immunization has been completely immunized. The certificate will be issued from the day of the 2nd vaccination. The regulations for people vaccinated with Johnson & Johnson remain unchanged.

“Recover”
A survived infection with Sars-Cov-2 entitles you to enter the country for six months from recovery. Detection of neutralizing antibodies counts for three months from the time of testing.

If none of the three detections can be submitted, a SARS-CoV-2 antigen test shall exceptionally be carried out for self-testing under the supervision of the operator of a permanent establishment. The negative test result must be kept ready for the duration of the stay.

Since 13 May 2021, entry from Germany without quarantine is possible, provided that you have been exclusively in Germany or Austria in the last 10 days.

In order to enter Austria, one of the following proofs is required (3-G rule):
Negative Covid-19 test, valid vaccination OR detection of infection

3G rule
As part of the 3G rule, entry from Germany to Austria requires a negative Covid-19 test, a valid vaccination or proof of an infection.

“Tested”
Guests need a PCR test not older than 72 hours or an antigen test that is not older than 48 hours. Children up to the age of 12 do not need a test.

“Vaccinated”
All vaccines approved by the EMA are recognized. Since 15 August, vaccination has only been considered proof of a low epidemiological risk once fully immunised.

If none of these documents is carried, a PCR or antigen test must be carried within 24 hours.

Since 1.8.2021, all travellers (aged 12 and over) are obliged to carry proof of vaccination, test or convalescence (“3G rule”) when entering Germany.

3-G proofs on the return journey to Germany:
Vaccinated: A person is considered vaccinated 14 days after full immunization
Convalescent: Anyone who can prove an infection that has lasted no more than six months and at least 28 days is considered to have recovered.
Tested: PCR test (max. 72 hours) or antigen test (max. 48 hours)

no. The test result of a self-test is only for personal information and personal well-being. Self-tests provide fast and low-threshold information about one’s own infection status and are therefore an important addition to the test strategy. However, since it cannot be checked whether the test was carried out correctly and who carried out the test, a negative self-test result cannot be used as proof of entry into Austria.

Since July 1, 2021, guests no longer need an outdoor mask indoors.
In public places, in public transport, in customer areas of business premises (e.B. trade, other services) as well as in museums, the wearing of a mouth-nose protection is mandatory in enclosed spaces.

According to the ordinance, a valid negative Covid-19 proof is required from guests at all times!
As soon as your (entry) test has expired, we ask you to take another test.

The following possibilities are available:
• Digital self-test with QR code in the hotel: This living room test has a validity of 24 hours.
• Antigen rapid test or PCR test
